Voltammetric behaviour of pyridine herbicide picloram (PCR) was investigated using two types of relatively new and perspective electrode materials: silver solid amalgam and boron-doped diamond. Various methods like cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry were examined. It was found, that PCR provided only one signal measurable on both tested working electrodes in an acidic medium. Its electrochemical reduction could be recorded on mercury meniscus modified silver solid amalgam electrode and different oxidation signal was measured on bare boron-doped diamond film electrode. Parameters of differential pulse voltammetry were optimized and the low limits of detection (LD(m-AgSAE) = 3.5x10-8 mol L-1 and LD(BDDFE) = 7.0x10-8 mol L-1) were reached.
