The paper compares ferrite pigments synthetized of appropriate metal oxides and carbonates. The comparison is done according to metal content ratio, overall anticorrosion efficiency, mechanical properties and electrochemical behaviour. As a reference pigment a commercially produced Bayferrox 120 and a core-shell ferrite pigment were used. To identify the effect of the formulated pigments on the anticorrosion efficiency, the coated pigments were dispersed in epoxy-ester resin and the paints applied to corrosion test panels.
