The new anticorrosion pigments were synthesized through a high-temperature process during a solid phase. The synthesized anticorrosion pigments were used to prepare alkyd resin based coatings that were subjected to tests for determining of physical-mechanical properties and anticorrosion properties. The synthesized anticorrosion ferrites were used to formulate alkyd coatings with PVC = 5 % for the tested pigment and with the PVC/CPVC ratio = 0.3. The coatings were tested for anticorrosive and for physical-mechanical properties. Comparisons of the lamellar ferrites with regard to the combinations of the Mg-Zn and Ca-Zn cations serve to detect the relatively stronger anticorrosion effects of the ferrites that contain the Ca-Zn combination.
