Stříbrná pevná amalgámová elektroda byla použita ke studiu elektrochemického chování cysteinu a peptidů obsahujících cystein ? glutathion γ-Glu-Cys-Gly a fytochelatinu PC3 (γ-Glu-Cys)3-Gly, v přítomnosti Co(II) iontů. Je známo, že peptidy obsahující cystein poskytují ve směsi s Co(II) ionty na rtuťové elektrodě signál odpovídající katalytickému vylučování vodíku. S využitím DP voltametrie byly pozorovány výrazné rozdíly mezi signály měřenými na HMDE a amalgámových elektrodách s povrchem modifikovaným rtutí na jedné straně a signály získanými na leštěné stříbrné pevné amalgámové elektrodě na straně druhé. In this study the silver solid amalgam electrode has been used to investigate the electrochemical behaviour of cysteine and cysteine-containing peptides ? glutathione γ-Glu-Cys-Gly and phytochelatin PC3 (γ-Glu-Cys)3-Gly in the presence of Co(II) ions. It is known that mixture of cobalt salts and cysteine-containing peptides yield a remarkable catalytic hydrogen evolution at the mercury electrode. Using DP voltammetry, we observed striking differences between the signals measured with hanging mercury drop electrode, mercury meniscus-modified and mercury film-modified silver solid amalgam electrodes on one hand and with polished silver solid amalgam electrode (whose surface was completely liquid mercury-free) on the other. The polished electrode yielded a well developed signal of the Brdička reaction whose shape was not influenced by other signals (observed using the electrodes with mercury surface). Determination of the measured compounds was most sensitive using this electrode.
