The aim of our research was to propose, verify and analyze the preparation conditions of the spinel compound Fe6Cr2O12 (3Fe2O3.Cr2O3). The pigment was prepared by a two-step method of preparation. The next aim of the research was to explore the pigment-application quality of the pigment prepared. This pigment affords an interesting brown hue in organic matrix as well as in ceramic glaze. We have tested the pigment application in 3 types of lead containing transparent glazes and in one type of transparent glaze free of lead oxide Cílem výzkumu bylo navrhnout , ověřit a analyzovat reakční podmínky syntézy spinelové sloučeniny Fe6Cr2O12 (3Fe2O3.Cr2O3). Pigment byl připraven dvoustupňovým způsobem přípravy a byly sledovány jeho pigmentově-aplikační vlastnosti. Tento pigment poskytuje intenzivní hnědý barevný odstín v organické matrici a také v keramických glazurách.
