Sledovali jsme výskyt mikroorganismů, včetně jejich celkových počtů v nativních ejakulátech kanců. Dále bylo zjišťováno ovlivnění kontaminace po naředění spermatu ředidly obsahujícími jednotlivá antibiotika: ampicilin, gentamycin, apramycin, cefoxitin nebo kombinace antibiotik: penicilinu se streptomycinem, ampicilinu s cefoxitinem, gentamycinu s cefoxitinem a ampicilinu s gentamycinem. Zastoupení bakteriálních druhů a celkové počty mikrobů v 1 ml ředěného spermatu, uchovávaného při teplotě přibližně 18°C jsme zjišťovali za 24, 48 a 72 hodin po naředění. Ze všech nativních ejakulátů jsme vykultivovali mikroorganismy. Mezi nejfrekventovanější patřily Proteus sp. (63,3%) a Pseudomonas aeruginosa (51,5%). Počty kontaminovaných ředěných ejakulátů se pohybovaly za 24 hodin po naředění od 12,5 do 95,8%, za 48 hodin od 12,5 do 98,5% a za 72 hodin od 16,8 do 95,8% z celkem vyšetřených ejakulátů. Výskyt mikroorganismů většinou odpovídal spektru účinnosti obsažených antibiotik nebo jejich kombinací.
