Determination of cadmium in real samples with complicated matrix by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) is influenced by chemical and spectral interferences. The interferences can be suppressed by applying various procedures. A special technique of separation is the electrochemical preconcentration of the analyte on electrodes. Commercial electrographite ridge probe coated electrochemically with palladium was used as a working electrode, and was inserted with the electrodeposited analyte into the atomizer. Potentiostatic electrodeposition of cadmium on the graphite probe electrochemically coated with palladium was applied to the determination of cadmium in sea water and urine. Stanovení kadmia v reálných vzorcích s komplikovanou matricí atomovou absorpční spektrometrií s elektrotermickou atomizací (ETAAS) je ovlivněno chemickými a spektrálními interferencemi. Ty mohou být potlačeny použitím různých postupů. Speciální separační technikou je elektrochemická prekoncentrace analytu na elektrodě. Komerční hřebenová sonda z elektrografitu elektrochemicky pokrytá palladiem byla použita jako pracovní elektroda a s depozitem umístěna do atomizátoru. Potenciostatická elektrodepozice kadmia na sondě pokryté palladiem byla využita pro stanovení kadmia v mořské vodě a moči.
