Der Artikel befasst sich mit der Frage nach dem österreichischen Patriotismus an der Wende des 19./20. Jahrhunderts. Am Beispiel der Rezeption der Geschichte - der(vermeintlichen) Quadenschlacht - wird gezeigt, wie der historische Roman zu ideologischen Zwecken genutzt werden kann. The article tries to find the answer to the question about the Austrian patriotism at the end of the 19. century. As example it takes the works of Guido List and Heinrich Kirchmayr and shows, how this gendre can be ideologically abused.
