dcterms:description
Though supposed phonetic values and diachronic development of Indo-European reconstructed velars are often and detailedly described, the nature itself of the functional relation between the given series of reconstructed velars is generally omitted. On the contrary, I suppose that it is this relation between velar series in Indo-European languages which is worth of overview and that a close look at that very relation and generally the whole nature of the relationship between velar series should be described with the use of the term related series which was introduced to phonology by N. S. Trubetzkoy.
