dcterms:description
The combination of detailed petrographic criteria, including quantitative evaluation with characteristics of cathodomicrofacies allowed distinguishing between various marble types, in those cases that an adequate amount of material was available. The additional method e.g. Raman microspectrometry or physical properties like the bulk magnetic susceptibility were shown to be very useful for impure marbles, which include silicates, the carbonaceous matter transformed due to various degrees of metamorphism and/or magnetic minerals.
