The objective of EURAMET joint research project “Metrology for Industrial Quantum Communication Technologies” (MIQC) is to develop metrological techniques and standards to help accelerate the introduction of new industrial quantum communication technologies based on single photons. It is focussed on the requirements of quantum key distribution (QKD) via optical fibre, the most commercially advanced application. This talk presents an overview of the project, and its outcomes to date.
