Three groups of 12 rabbits each were intranasally (i.n.), subcutaneously (s.c.), and perorally (p.o.) challenged, respectively, at a dose of 6x104 CFU. Six rabbits of each challenged group were immunosuppressed by dexamethasone. Eight rabbits (4 of them immunosuppressed) inoculated i.n. showed symptoms of respiratory distress resulting in respiratory failure and died or were euthanized in the terminal stage of the disease 3-6 days post-infection (p.i.). The main pathological findings were fibrinopurulent pleuropneumonia (immunocompetent rabbits) or diffuse haemorrhagic pneumonia (immunosuppressed rabbits). Septicemic syndrome ending with shock occurred in 11 rabbits (6 of them immunosuppressed) inoculated s.c., which died or were euthanized in the terminal stage of the disease 2-3 days p.i. The most significant pathological findings were extensive cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions. All of the p.o. inoculated rabbits survived the challenge showing no signs of the disese. Tři skupiny po 12-ti králících byly infikováni intranazálně (i.n.), subkutáně (s.c.) a perorálně v dávce 6x104 CFU. Šest králíků z každé skupiny bylo imunosuprimováno dexamethasonem. Osm i.n. infikovaných králíků (4 imunosuprimováni) projevilo příznaky respiračního onemocnění končícího respiračním selháním a smrti nebo nutnou euthanasii v rozmezí 3-6 dni po infekci (p.i.). Hlavní pato-anatomický nález byla těžká krupózní pleuropneumonie (imunokompetentní králíci) nebo difúzní hemoragická pneumonie (imunosuprimováni králíci). Jedenáct s.c. infikovaných králíků (6 imunosuprimováni) onemocnělo septikemickým syndromem s následnými úhyny nebo nutnou euthanasii v rozmezí 2-3 dni p.i. Hlavním pato-anatomickým nálezem byly velice silné a rozsáhlé kožní a podkožní leze. Všichni p.o. infikováni králíci přežili infekci bez příznaku onemocněni.
