Effect of various modulators of arachidonic acid metabolism and their influence on apoptosis induced by tumor necrosis factor alfa were investigated in human myeloid leukaemia HL-60. Indomethacin and nordihydroguaiaretic acid synergistically potentiated TNF-a induced apoptosis. Our data raise the possibility that indomethacin could potentially be used to improve the treatment of human myeloid leukaemia.
