dcterms:description
From the results of 5 years of field experiments, we conclude that higher grain yields of spring barley were always reached on those variants with chemical protection used, compared with those with biological treatments. Even though the chemical treatments caused higher yield (and consequently a higher economic effect), from the point of view of maintaining a quality and healthy environment, including protection of underground waters, biological protection occupies an unassailably higher position. The use of three biofungicides applied in different forms also had favourable influences on yield increases of spring barley. On average, we found the additional yields to be from 3.2 to 5.6%, when compared with non-treated variants.
