The methods which can characterize cultivar identity, purity and trueness are very important for the quality of agricultural products and foods. The composition of storage proteins of cereal grain (prolamins, glutelins) and potato tuber proteins is conditioned and fixed genetically by specific loci and this way the genotyp can be characterized. The gel electrophoresis of the mentioned proteins (SGE, PAGE, SDS-PAGE) is very suitable method for this purpose. Catalogues of protein genetic markers (wheatgliadins and HMW-glutenins, barley hordeins and esterases) of Czech registered varieties and the catalogue of 60 Czech registered potato varietes were constructed. Všechny metody, jimiž je možno charakterizovat identitu, původnost, čistotu a pravost odrůdy mají velký význam pro kvalitu zemědělských produktů a potravin. Zásobní proteiny obilného zrna (prolaminy, gluteliny) a hlízové proteiny brambor je lze uplatnit jako genetické markery a tak charakterizovat genotyp na základě geneticky definovaného polymorfismu. Pro tyto účely jsou vhodné metody elektroforézy zmíněných proteinů v gelových nosičích (SGE,PAGE,SDS-PAGE). Pomocí těchto metod byly vytvořeny katalogy proteinových genetických markerů (gliadiny a HMW-gluteniny pšenice, hordeiny a esterázy ječmene ) českých registrovaných odrůd a katalog 60 odrůd brambor registrovaných v ČR.
