A new herbaceous lycopsid, compression species, Selaginella labutae, sp. nov., is described from the Libušín Mine, near Kladno, Kladno–Rakovník Basin, Czech Republic. The characterization is based on macroscopic observations and the study of in situ spores. The stratigraphic position of the type material is the Radnice Member, Bolsovian, Pennsylvanian. Strobili of S. labutae are the smallest known herbaceous lycopsid cones.
