The use of geographic information systems technology is mainly conditioned by quality of input data and the relationships between them. Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) is one of the most modern technologies for acquisition of spatial geographic data. Despite minor errors in inaccuracies of data interpretation, this technology works in practice. It is suitable for creating a digital model of surface and relief. This data can be used, among others, to give precision to trajectory of water courses, to define boundaries of the water level, to find cross barriers to water courses, etc. Thermography analyzes the distribution of temperature field on the surface of the body. In the water management its use is appropriate to mapping hidden and unidentified inflows into surface waters, which are often carriers of pollution, or for determining the distribution of macrophytas and zoobenthos.
