dcterms:description
An acoustic emission method is successfully used for health monitoring of test specimen in the course of material strength testing. For the purpose of investigation of fatigue behaviour or technology sample validation, constant amplitude loading of test specimen is demanded according to the standard procedures. An acoustic emission produced during fatigue damage development has specific features and data interpretation is easy to understand. A quantification of results allows stopping the cyclic loading when a desired stadium of fatigue crack is reached. An acoustic emission method may be used for documentation of fatigue life or studying the process of material cracking.
