Zhodnotit patofyziologické důsledky alimentárního přebytku jódu u skotu a ovcí, analyticky ověřit úroveň saturace dojených krav jódem a eliminovat rizika jeho nadbytku v mléce. The submitted project is focused on providing an objective assessment of the body burden of iodine imposed on dairy cows, as well as considering any possible risk of the iodine excess found in milk as a dairy foodstuff, and finding out patophysiological changes taking place in thyroid gland due to its long-standing excess found in cows and experimental sheep. The iodine content in the pool milk samples collected from dairy cows in breeding herds, making up a significant proportion of milk production in the CR, will be determined by assessing the total iodine intake in a complete feed ration, and by specifying a proportion of the supplemental iodine contained in mineral feed additives and premixes for livestock. The cows from breeding herds, having long-term increased iodine content in milk, and the experimental dairy cows, ewes and offsprings thereof with the iodine content from 0,8 ab to 5 mg per kilogram of diet dry matter, will be monitored to analyze both functional and morphological changes in t

The project aimed to evaluate the pathophysiological consequences of foodborne iodine excess in cattle and sheep and to analytically verify the level of iodine saturation of dairy cows and eliminate the risks of its excess in milk. The work on the project developed in keeping with the phases planned and individual objectives were fulfilled. Cílem projektu bylo zhodnotit patofyziologické důsledky alimentárního přebytku jódu u skotu a ovcí, analyticky ověřit úroveň saturace dojených krav jódem a eliminovat rizika jeho nadbytku v mléce. Průběh prací odpovídal naplánovaným etapám, dílčí cíle byly splněny.
