The objects of the applied research are the methods of identification and control of Dothistroma needle blight caused by Mycosphaerella pini E. Rostrup, resp. its anamorph Dothistroma septospora, which is - according to the present legislative measures of phytopathological care in the Czech Republic (Law > No. 326/2004 Gaz.) - considered to be a quarantine harmful organism. In the Czech Republic, M. pini is currently spreading at a rapid speed not only causing increasing economic loss as such but it is also the public administration of the CR that is being set back due to the fact mentioned above. As it is widely believed that early identification is the key point, within the project, the methods of identification will be looked for and verified in order to identify and quarantine the harmful organism M. pini in host tissues on the basis of methods of molecular biology and their confrontation with traditional determination methods. The aim of the project is to propose and verify the methodology which Zmapování výskytu M. pini a M. dearnessii v ČR, biologie, fenologie, symptomatika, s návazností na klimatická data, morfologická variabilita, vytvoření sbírky kultur, exaktní identifikace na bázi DNA, populační dynamika, genetická struktura a diverzita.

The project objective included the mapping out the occurrence of Mycosphaerella Pini and Mycosphaerella Dearnessii in the Czech Republic, biology, phenology, symptomatology in the context of climate data. The project developed as planned and the results can be made use of both in practice and in future research. The results presented, however, are not complete. Cílem projektu bylo zmapování výskytu Mycosphaerella pini a Mycosphaerella dearnessii v ČR, biologie, fenologie, symptomatika, s návazností na klimatická data. Řešení projektu probíhalo podle plánu a výsledky jsou využitelné v praxi i dalším výzkumu, avšak předložené výsledky nejsou kompletní.
