Aim of the project is to find out and evaluate attitudes of the wide public within the Czech territory to the prestigious (literary) language from the statistical and linguistic point of view. This socio-linguistic inquiry, based on a whole-nation interrogatory research involving approximately 3,000-5,000 differentiated questionnaires, elaborated and distributed after consultations with sociologists, would help to find out, whether and to what extent the public incline to the opinion that it is still appropriate and necessary to pay attention to codification of the literary Czech language and preserve this prestigious language variety, or whether the prevailing opinion is that these codification interventions influence the natural development of the language in a negative way. The socio-linguistic inquiry, based of the attitudes of the public, will represent a suitable supplement to the contemporary corpus and communication research. Cíl je zjistit a staticky vyhodnotit názory na spisovnost, postoje k ní a představy o její potřebnosti panující v české veřejnosti, a to s ohledem na diskurz mluvený i psaný. Šetření obsáhne celou ČR, využijí se diferencované dotazníky, konzultované se sociology a určené pro různé věkové kategorie.
