The objective of the project is the development of constitutive relations for vein wall and biochemical description of the processes occurring in the vein wall. Such relations will contribute to the classification of the vein properties with relation to some pathological states, for example varicosity (varicose vein) or chronic venous insufficiency, and to the possibility of prediction of the changes of their properties. The following requirements are necessary to reach this goal:to complete and summarize the up-to-date knowledge about mechanical properties of the vein wall and its interaction with the outer and inner loading with respect to concentration changes of some relevant chemicals like LDL/HDL cholesterols, triglycerides, growth factors, cytokines, etc.to develop and test a biochemical model of the vein wall remodelling under physiological and pathophysiological conditions, which will be suitable for clinical verification. This project is oriented to basic research in material sciences. We expect testing of the results in collaboration with clinics (e.g. arterialization) and their application in numerical simulation codes. Cílem projektu je nalézt konstitutivní vztahy pro žilní stěnu a biochemický popis v ní probíhajících procesů obměny (remodelace).Tyto vztahy přispějí ke klasifikaci vlastností žil v závislosti na některých patologických stavech,jako jsou například křečové žily a chronická žilní insuficience.
