The project is aimed at production and use of recombinant proteins derived from proteins of the early antigen complex (EA) of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Proteins of EA complex are of great importance to differential diagnostics of diseases caused by EBV or associated with it (e.g. infectious mononucleosis). Recombinant Escherichia coli strains producing derivates of viral proteins with desired antigenic properties will be developed by the methods of gene manipulations.
