The project is oriented on the long -term observation of traditional folk culture and the phenomena of ethnographical character in their complexity and changeability. The aim of the project is to document the contemporary state and the development trendswith the help of the method which had become an important part of the ethnographical reasearch. The project is evoked by the three circumstances: 1/ The videodocumentation become an unsubstitutable modem method of ethnological research the priority of w hich consists in the higt degree of objectivity in the process of the observation of phenomena in a certain space and time. 2/ The project continues a good quality of the film archives of the former State Institute of the Folk Song and the Institute of Ethnography and Folklore Studies of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. 3/ The effort to the systematic videodocumentation is in accord with the topical needs of European ethnology and represents a necessary presupposition of the development of this bra Projekt je zaměřen na dlouhodobé sledování lidové kultury a jevů náodopisné povahy v jejich komplexnosti. Cílem projektu je dokumentovat současný stav a vývojové trendy pomocí metody, která se stala důležitou součástí etnologického bádání. Projekt je determinován třemi okolnostmi: 1. Videodokumentace se stala nezastupitelnou moderní metodou etnologického výzkumu, jejíž přednost spočívá ve vysoké míře objektivity při sledování jevů v určitém prostoru a čase. 2. Projekt navazuje na dobrou úroveň filmovéhoarchívu bývalého Státního ústavu pro lidovou píseň a ÚEF ČSAV. 3. Úsilí o systematickou videodokumentaci je v souladu s aktuálními potřebami evropské etnologie a je nezbytným předpokladem rozvoje tohoto oboru. Dosavadní snaha o vytvoření audiovizuálního pramenného fondu bude ve stanoveném období dovršena výstupy tohoto úkolu, tj. finálními videokazetami s komentáři v rozsahu odborné studie, zaměřenými na kulturu všedního dne, nositele folklóru a na formy a funkce tradičních a nových slavností.
