The aim of the project is the examination of biblical propria in the original Hebraic and Greek layers. An analysis thereof shall indicate the role played in their context by the original, linguistically correct etymology, and the role played by secondary and re-signing re-etymologization that fills the name with a new meaning according to the context, i.e. from synchronic aspects. Consequently, resulting therefrom will be the rules for a general analysis of the phenomenon of re-etymologization that has been up to now examined in propria, and especially in the biblical propria, in a small extent, as well as the starting point for the method of synchronic onomatology in general. Cílem projektu je průzkum biblických proprií v původní hebrejské a řecké vrstvě. Jejich analýza ukáže, jakou roli má v jejich kontextu původní, jazykově korektní etymologie a jakou má sekundární a přeznačující reetymologizace, která naplňuje jméno novým významem v souladu s potřebou kontextu tedy ze synchronního aspektu. Odtud vyplynou potom i pravidla jednak pro obecnou analýzu jevu reetymologizace, který je na propriích a zvláště biblických dosud málo probádán, jednak i východisko pro metodiku synchronní onomatologie vůbec.
