| - Cílem je výzkum v oblasti dějin výtvarného umění a architektury se zaměřením na vrcholná období vývoje umění v českých zemích. Záměrem je objasnit smysl, rozsah a význam malířství, sochařství, architektury i vývoje historických urbanistických celků v dějinném kontextu. Budou zkoumány otázky vývoje českého umění ve vztahu ke světovým uměleckým proudům, a to zejména ve středověkém umění, rudolfinských studiích, v baroku a umění 19.a 20.století. Uplatní se i metoda umělecko-historických topografií. Součástí výzkumného záměru je i řešení metodologických problémů věd o umění, estetika a teorie a praxe památkové péče. V součinnosti s výzkumným záměrem se budou vydávat časopisy Umění a Estetika, periodikum Studia Rudolphina a soubor edicí Fontes Historiae Artium. V těchto periodikách budou publikovány studie jako součásti výstupů. Bude probíhat digitalizace fotografické dokumentace pro naplnění cílů výzkumného záměru. Výstup bude soustředěn také na přípravu cizojazyčných dějin umění v ČR.
- The research project will treat the field of the history of the visual arts and architecture with a concentration on the major periods of the development of art in the Czech Lands. The purpose is to clarify the meaning, extent and importance of Czech art in a historical context. Questions of the development of Czech art in relation to international artistic currents will also be studied, in particular in the art of the Middle Ages, the Rudolfinian period, the Baroque and the art of the 19th and 20th c. The method of artistic-historical topography will be used as well. Part of the research aim is the resolution of methodological problems of scholarship about art, aesthetics and the theory and practice of preservation of monuments. At the same time, the journals Umění and Estetika, bulletin Studia Rudolphin and series Fontes Historiae Artium will be published as part of the approach. The history of Czech Visual art for foreign publisher will be part of the project. (en)

- New research on gothic and renaissance art in Moravia and Silesia as well as on medieval architecture was presented. The Institute of Art History started to publish Studia Rudolphina, numerous monographs on Czech modern art were edited and published. (en)
