  • Kriminalistický ústav Praha v roce 2005 zpracoval výzkumný projekt zabávající se sedimentací částic povýstřelových zplodin po výstřelu. Hlavním cílem projektu bylo stanovení časové křivky sedimentace částic po výstřelu a stanovení doby po výstřelu, kdy dochází k usazení největšího množství částic. Uveřejněné výsledky vyvolaly řadu reakcí. V jednom z nich pan DeGaetano komentoval výsledky projektu a, mimo jiné, píše: v textu knihy uvěřejněné Schwoeblem a Exlinem je kapitola, která se teroreticky, na základě fyziky, zabývá časem sedimentace částic. Zjistil, že pevná částice o velikosti 1 mikrometru sedimentuje ve vzduchu v čase menším než 30 vteřin. Pokud jsou experimentální výsledky v rozporu s fyzikou, je třeba změnit nastavení experimentu. Zkusili jsme otočit DeGaetanův nápad. Nezměnili jsme experimantální podmínky, ale opravili jsme Schwoeblův a Exlinův výpočet. (cs)
  • The institute of Criminalistics Prague processed in 2005 a research project dealing with the GSR particles sedimentation after a shot. The main purposes of these experiments were creating the time curve of GSR particles deposition and determining the time after the shooting, when the quantitatively most significant sedimentation of particles takes place. There were some reactions to results of the project. In one of them Mr. Doug DeGaetano has replied to published results and - among others said: There is also a section in the Schwoeble and Exline text that allows you to calculate the amount of time you would expect GSR to remain airborne based on physics. Solid 1.0 micron particles should fall out of the air in less than 30 seconds. When experimental results are contradictory to physics you need to reexamine the experimental design”. We have tried to reverse Mr. DeGaetano´s idea. We did not reexamine our experiments, but we checked up Schwoeble´s and Exline´s calculation.
