Description	This paper describes content of the Recommendation of The State Office for Nuclear Safety for patient safety and quality improvement in radiotherapy in the Czech Republic together with quality assurance system at radiotherapy departments in the Czech Republic. The objective of this recommendation is to identify all aspects which can affect the safety of patients treated with modern radiotherapy techniques (e.g. IMRT, IMAT) and introduce tools and techniques which serve in strengthening the quality and safety of radiotherapy (e.g. Statistical Process Control). The recommendation is focused on IMRT and IMAT, however it can be applied also for another teletherapy techniques. The recommendation should serve to the radiotherapy departments (namely to radiation oncologists, medical physicists and radiation therapy technologists) for improvement of their quality assurance system and also to state supervision as a guideline for performing inspections.
