Description
  • The contribution presents an algebraic approach to control design and its application to single-input single-output first-order time-delay systems with uncertain parameters. In the illustrative example, a single positive scalar parameter is used for tuning the three various realistic continuous-time PID controllers for a plant with uncertainty in all three parameters at the same time (gain, time constant and time-delay term). The controller design is accompanied by robust stability analysis of a family of closed-loop characteristic quasi-polynomials based on the graphical testing in order to verify the robust stability of final control loops. The obtained results are confirmed by control simulations.
