Description
  • The content of this paper covers the analysis of the creativity in relation to local government budgets. First, the paper introduces the method, which enables quantification of the creative potential in the regions. This method is based from the fundamental perspective of Richard Florida, who is the important promoter of the creative economy. The paper compares the reached values with basic macroeconomic indicators in order to confirm the positive correlation between the creativity and the economic level of a region. Furthermore, the work analyses basic components of local government budgets under the influence of the creativity. As a method, it employs correlation analysis. This method enables to demonstrate the effective contribution of the creativity in relation to the level of revenues and expenses of local budgets. At the revenue part, the analysis finds significant positive relation between the creative environment and tax revenues. Private sector forms the greatest incentives for the growth of the creative regions. The own economic activity and capital revenues or subsidies lack the positive correlation with the level of creativity.
