  • Biological stability of PVC films and PVC/MMT films was investigated in an aerobic aqueous environment in the presence of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plant). Criteria evaluating biostability were nanocomposite weight loss, biological oxygen demand indicating biodegradation of plasticiser, microscopic analysis of surface, ATR analysis.
