  • Structural adhesives replace traditional mechanical and fusion fastening methods in many of manufacturing applications. Effectively bond wide range of constructions materials including metallic, plastics and composite surgaces. In this article the chemistry of epoxy, urethane and acrylic structural adhesives is described. Also the significant properties, advantages, disadvantages of each family are mentioned, including base resins used, curing agents and its curing mechanisms and reactions. Finally the producers and suppliers of these structural adhesives are introduced according to the adhesive chemical family they offer.
