Description
(u fólie 3:1) a cca 100 hod. (cs)
  • During degradation of PVAL mixtures, when other substrates are present in reaction suspension, competitive breakdown reaction are very likely to occur, which will affect degradation of PVAL itself. This contribution describes kinetics of PVAL degradation in the presence of collagen hydrolysate (CH) and glycerol (G). Biological degradability of PVAL, of mixtures PVAL with CH (1:2, 1:4) and of mixtures pVAL, CH and G (1:1:1, 1:2:2 and 1:2:4) was investigated in an aerobe aqueous environment. Inoculation of the aqueous medium employed PVAL-adapted wastewater-treatment activated sludge (BČOV). Course of biodegradation was evaluated by decrements of organic carbon, PVAL and CH in cultivating medium. Results confirmed that components first to break down were those degradable with ease, CH and G. PVAL breakdown proceeded after their disposal. Mixtures containing glycerol exhibited markedly accelerated breakdown of PVAL itself, with the constant of first-order equation increased from 0.009 # 0.005 h-1 to 0.04
