Description	As could be seen around us every day, degradation of building structures is ubiquitous. This degradation je very often caused by excessive dampness. These problems can be diagnosed even at new buildings, but more common are at historic buildings. Just these historic buildings are what we should protest for further generations. The aim of this research project was to fill in a database of properties of historic full burnt bricks (mechanical and physical properties) and integrate the information into the complex database what will be possible to deduce unequivocal conclusions from. These conclusions should thereafter help to select the method how to behave the best to such precious buildings not only within their maintenance, but mainly when their rehabilitation is necessary.
