  • Road tunnels represent complex technical systems that may be exposed to hazard situations leading to serious consequences. Risk criteria for road tunnels are therefore becoming a more and more important issue all over the world. Available documents concerning risk management and assessment of road tunnels provide almost no guidance on risk criteria. Three different types of risk are discussed in the submitted paper: individual risk R(ind) of a person related to specific operational conditions, expected risk R(exp) expressed in terms of number of fatalities per tunnel and year and societal risk expressed in terms of cumulative frequency F=P(Rm>=N), presented commonly as F-N curve, per tunnel (or 1 km of a tunnel) and year.

  • Silniční tunely představují složité technické systémy, vystavené nebezpečným situacím s vážnými následky. Proto se kritéria stanovení rizik silničních tunelů stávají důležitým tématem na celém světě. Dostupné dokumenty týkající se managementu a analýzy rizik silničních tunelů však neposkytují téměř žádné pokyny. V předloženém článku se uvažují 3 různé typy rizik: individuální riziko Rind, tj. riziko jednotlivce vzhledem k jeho specifickým podmínkám, očekávané riziko Rexp vyjádřené jako počet úmrtí v daném tunelu v jednom roce a společenské riziko, vyjádřené jako kumulativní frekvence F=P(Rm>=N), která se obvykle uvádí jako F-N křivka pro tunel (nebo 1 km tunelu) a rok.
