  • Our work deals with a new classification method Divergence Decision Tree (DDT), which links together a basic classification by means of k-means method and phi-divergence measure as a decision criterion. K-means as a part of the DDT has several disadvantages, therefore other simple method, e.g., fuzzy method, can be incorporated as a component of the DDT method. Several versions of the DDT, which differ in type of phi-divergence and incorporated simple method, are tested on a data set coming from experiment with acoustic emission (AE) signals and the result are compared with results of other self-contained methods. The method DDT is also tested on single top quark data set coming from D0 experiment in Tevatron accelerator.
