Description	Použití vysokopevnostních ocelí v automobilovém průmyslu umožňuje díky zmenšení nosného průřezu součástí konstrukce výrazné snížení jak hmotnosti automobilu, tak spotřeby pohonných hmot, při současném zvýšení bezpečnosti osádky. Chování materiálu při statickém namáhání v laboratoři se může výrazně lišit od dynamického zatěžování během nárazu nebo crash-testu. Snahou výrobců automobilů je použití materiálů s vysokou statickou pevností a zároveň schopností absorpce velkého množství nárazové energie během srážky. Naší snahou bylo ověření možností aplikace metody měření lomové a vrubové houževnatosti tenkých plechů, které pro tyto materiály nebylo dosud normalizováno. (cs) Use of High Strength Steels in car industry enables decreasing of part's cross-section and thus leads to the significant decrease in the weight of the car, fuel consumption and increase in safety level of the car crew. Mechanical behaviour of material during static loading under laboratory conditions can significantly differ from the dynamic loading during a collision or crash-test. Car manufacturers focus on the materials with high static strength and capability of absorbing impact energy during the crash. Our effort was focused on the applicability of measurement of fracture and impact toughness of thin sheets. This procedure has not been so far standardized within the car industry.
