Description
  • For comprehensive evaluation of radiation risk to patients due to diagnostic radiology, it is essential to have a unified system of dosimetric quantities and units. Such a system does not exist currently in this field. Commonly, it is not indicated, in which material the quantity is determined and whether the backscattered radiation is included or not A specific problem brings a use of a quantity absorbed dose under conditions, in which this quantity can not be measured because of the lack of secondary electron equilibrium, as it is the case at an interface between two materials. Therefore, IAEA and ICRU are preparing international recommendation for dosimetry in diagnostic radiology. It will include both the system of proper quantities and units with a methodology of measurement, and calibration of relevant dosemeters. The whole system of application specific quantities will be based on kerma, which is a primary dosimetric quantity for diagnostic radiology energy range.

  • Pro komplexní hodnocení radiační zátěže pacientů v rentgenové diagnostice je třeba mít jednotný systém dozimetrických veličin a jednotek. Taková situace v tomto oboru v současnosti není, při kvantifikaci ozáření pacientů často není zřejmé v kterém materiálu je dozimetrická veličina stanoven či zda je obsaženo zpětně rozptýlené záření. Problém přináší použití veličiny absorbovaná dávka v případech, kdy ji nelze změřit kvůli absenci rovnováhy nabitých částic, jako v případě měření na rozhraní dvou materiálů. IAEA a ICRU z těchto důvodů připravují mezinárodní doporučení pro dozimetrii v rentgenové diagnostice, které bude obsahovat systém správných veličin a také metody jejich stanovení, včetně způsobu kalibrace příslušných dozimetrů. Celý systém bude založen na veličině kerma a ne absorbovaná dávka, jelikož kerma je primární dozimetrickou veličinou pro oblast rentgenové diagnostiky. (cs)
