Description
  • The designed device generates an output signal that exhibit random behavior. This device called the noise source creates the random signal based on physical phenomena in which appear a random behavior. The output random signal is extracted by a circuit in which metastable states appear. The voltage value of the output random signal is given by the thermal noise and the flicker noise that is present in the metastable element. The current mirrors with the cascoded transistors are used due to reduction of deterministic noises that negatively affect the random output signal. Due to the growing need for random data in the shortest possible time a synchronous pipeline design is used for data generation. The proposed bit-rate of random data is 20 Mb/s. The whole device is fully integrated and is manufactured in CMOS technology HCMOS9GP 130 nm. The fabricated die is packaged in QFN 40 package.
