Description
| - PYSIOLOGICAL mapping is required for precise implantation of deep brain stimulation (DBS) electrodes during surgery. While a few centers implant the DBS based solely on anatomy, the vast majority include microelectrode recording (MER) We present a comparative analysis of three regularity measures commonly used in physiological research [4]: Sample Entropy (SamEn), Lempel-Ziv complexity (LZC) and Multi-Fractal (MF) analysis. The paper presents methodology, which provides good segmentation among basal ganglia nucleus structures: Thalamus (Th), Substantia Negra (SNr), Subthalamus (STN) and Globus Pallidus. The measures proved to be able to obtain good discrimination among different basal ganglia nuclei.
