  • Side angles measuring system based on pressure difference consists of three identical modules and of two reference pressure volumes. Each module contains two differential pressure sensors Honeywell DC001NDC4 with +-250 Pa range, one temperature sensor with digital output SMT 160-30 with range from - 45 to 150 degrees of Celsius, two 16-bits A/D converters Texas Instruments ADS8513 and control board with microprocessor Freescale HCS12XDT512MAA. Modules measure pressure difference between their two pressure inputs. Two outer modules have one pressure input connected to the reference volume and the other is opened to the atmosphere where senses static pressure. Middle module measures pressure difference between reference volumes. In all modules difference pressure sensors are connected to pressure inputs in order to measure pressure difference with double sensitivity. Sensor outputs are connected to A/D convertors and these digitalized signals are read by microprocessor. Temperature sensor is attached to reference volume and its output is connected directly by microprocessor. Measured data are filtered and corrected by measured conversion characteristics in microprocessor. All modules are controlled by script in Matlab on a PC, data from modules are transferred through CAN bus. From measured data the pressure difference between outer modules is computed. From this pressure difference the side angle of whole system can be calculated.
