  • In this work we study how changes mentioned above influence impedance matching of a source of electromagnetic field. We, using numerical simulator of electromagnetic field, model simple applicator made of section of waveguide with horn aperture with load (i.e. tested sample for processing) inserted in front of the applicator (excitation is in form of coaxial antenna protruding to the cavity of the waveguide). Material properties are changed to various values (according to water loss conductivity of sample is reduced during the processing, relative permittivity remains more or less constant) and we inspect how applicator optimization is compromised and how relative absorbed energy changes (SAR (specific absorption rate) for optimized applicator and non-optimized are compared) due to these changes.
