Description
  • The developed GNSS receiver is based on software defined radio principle. This design was chosen with the aim to reduce the processing in the analog domain and transfer main processing load to digital signal processing. Therefore the receiver uses the combination of custom designed FPGA board and common PC board with interconnection via LAN. The main advantage is the flexible distribution of signal processing load between high speed FPGA and multitasking capable PC board running Linux-based operating system. The receiver was realized in the form of 19-inch rack 4U case for the purpose of the reception of GioveB experimental satellite and further available regular Galileo satellites for the project of cooperation with Korean ETRI Institute. Therefore the basic GNSS bands L1 (for receiver verification with available GPS signals) and E5 (for Galileo reception) were used.
