Description
| - An experimental RF version of the simulated microwave device has been successfully created and measured in detail. In-depth analyses of the intermodulation products have been previously published in the impacted journal Radioengineering (IF=0.312), and at the IEEE International Conference on IC Design & Technology in Austin (Texas), which was held at Freescale Semiconductor (the Proceedings Paper is indexed in Thomson ISI). The simulations assessed the precision of Volterra series in comparison with the results obtained by the Fast Fourier transform (FFT). The device can be effectively used as a multiply balanced mixer with an extraordinary suppression of the undesirable intermodulation product 2f_1-f_2. Note that the analyses described above are also able to compute higher-order intermodulation components. The device has been thoroughly measured by the Tek sampling oscilloscope with 10MS/s, which has confirmed a correct functionality of the circuit used as an RF amplitude modulator.
