Description
  • Cochlear Implant is an electronic device, which can mediate hearing sensations to profoundly deaf people. One possibility how to reach better performance is increasing of electrodes. As the number of physical electrodes of current implants is limited, the only possible way seems to be using virtual electrodes. This paper describes an adding of 21 virtual electrodes were implemented by sequential stimulation of adjacent intracochlear electrodes and the ACE strategy with virtual electrodes (ACEv) for Nucleus(R) 24 Cochlear Implant System was created and verified in a clinical trial with several patiens.

  • Kochleární implantát je elektronické zařízení které částečně nahrazuje sluch pacientům s těžkou sluchovou vadou. Jedna z možností jak zvýšit srozumitelnost řeči s kochleárním implantátem je zvýšit počet stimulačních elektrod. Počet fyzických elektrod je limitován ale nabízí se možnost použití virtuálních elektrod. Tento článek popisuje implementaci virtuálních elektrod vytvořených sekvenční stimulací do řečové strategie ACE pro použití v kochleárním implantátu Nucleus(R) 24. Algoritmus řečové strategie ACE s virtuálními elektrodami (ACEv) bzl ověřen simulacemi i testy s pacienty s kochleárními implantáty. (cs)
