  • The aim of this work was to find an effect of tracheal gas insufflation (TGI) on artificial lung ventilation. This model is derived from the anatomical structure. The complicated lung structure does not allow an exact modelling according to the anatomical lung structure. Therefore the respiration system is modelled as an axial symmetrical straight pipe with a growing radius. The equation was solved by numerical simulation with proper initial conditions, which were given by model structure and gas concentration in the respiratory system. The tracheal gas insufflation is based on thin TGI catheter, which was modelled as a source of ventilatory mixture, situated into the place maximal corresponding with reality. The outputs of the final model were compared not only with an animal experiment but also with another model derived from the electro-acoustic analogy. (en)
