  • Main objective of this project is to assess and to prove experimentally the increase of operating life/resistance of critically loaded selected parts by implementing the technology IBAD (coating the surfaces by TiN and CrN). The parameters of gearboxes are in large measure determined by the quality of individual mating gears. The technology of production of gears is most of the time such that cementing and hardening is used. This is probably the best form of technology at the present time resulting in the optimum results from the point of view of fatigue load of the gear tooth flank. Similarly the loading capacity and durability of rolling bearings is determined by the quality of manufacture and surface finish of the rolling elements and raceways. This includes also bushings, clevis pins, points, serrations, sealing surfaces of armatures and such.
