Description
  • The paper compares the heat treatment response of two types of low-alloy chromium tool steels indicated as DHQ1 and DHQ3M used for the manufacturing of metallurgical cylinders. The influence of different chemical composition on the grain coarsening during heating to the forming temperature and subsequent processing is evaluated. The kinetics of austenite grain growth at typical heat forming temperature, changes in the amount and size of particles, occurring under given conditions is studied. The goal of the work is to prevent the risk of local coarse-grained areas formation within the final products.
