Description
  • The majority of HVAC design methods and established standards don't distinguish between small- and large- space buildings, even though their thermal behaviour is different. In small spaces any possible heat sink or source directly influences thermal comfort in whole considered area. However in large spaces the situation is different. Heat sinks/sources influence just their surroundings. This must be taken into account during the design process. The contribution describes on practical examples a way how HVAC systems for large spaces should be designed. The key point is in dividing of the whole treated space into thermal zones with uniform behaviour. The methodology leads to better distribution of produced heat into the space. The heat is delivered to the places where it is needed.
