Description
| - Stillages are a water suspension of substrate used in technology and dead micro-organisms with the dry-weight content of approximately 8 wt. %. Many disposal technologies have been developed and tested, however none of these methods solves successfully this problem. Our pre-tested technology enables the biological treatment successfully. Necessary part of this technology is a chemical pre-treatment. During this phase, the main part of gluten is degraded and a great part of pollution is chemically coagulated. By chemical pre-treatment the initial value of COD was reduced by half and it was proved, that separated liquid part of pre-treated stillages can be purified in a biological way in WWTP with a residence time of 15-20 days. The effluent is the waste water with COD of 1400-1600 mg/l that can be purified in aerated lagoons and finally discharged into the river.
